The Club was started in 1976 by Dave Babcock. He contacted local people interested in keeping a tractor Show in Caro as the Saginaw Valley Steam Association decided to leave Caro when new baseball diamonds were installed on the infield of the Fairgrounds race tracks. The Saginaw Club had their show on the infield, using the race track and grandstands for their parade. The Saginaw Club was in Caro from 1965 through 1975.
Dave was the first president of the Caro Club in 1976 & 1977. He believes Maurice Evans was the second President for 2 terms of one year each term.

It was always a tractor show as well as an old engine show, but in the early years the engines outnumbered the tractors. It included all brands of tractors and equipment as they all fed this country for a long time. Dave was elected later for 2 terms as President of the Club.
The Club has a toy sale in February, a tractor show in August (during the August Show in 2017 added a Toy Sale on Saturday) and started a swap meet in October, 2013. We welcome any and all new members to the Club. Please look at the list of events and contact us if you have any questions.

This tractor is a 1927 (first year) 28-50 hp Hart Parr, weight 10,000 pounds. Owner Dave Babcock from Cass City, MI. The Hart Parr company was the first to market gas tractors and first to use the name “tractor”. Before the word tractor was used, companies used gasoline or steam traction engine. The Oliver company acquired the Hart Parr company in 1929. Oliver continued to make and sell the old Hart Parr design thru 1930, then redesigned a new Oliver Hart Parr tractor. Those tractors had a totally different “modern” look.
